I think he was right that it’s probably hard to understand the pressures of this type of thing (especially cuz this was during the absolute peak of craziness), but yeah they should probably feel some shame over this. I really really would like to think I wouldn’t have done that if I was in their shoes
It's ironic that people who consider themselves left-wing and anti-capitalist are happy to use the precarious nature of at-will employment as a weapon against their ideological enemies.
Bosses are a lot more accommodating of cancel mobs than union drives because one affirms the power structure and the other threatens it. Cancelled employees could be seen as a kind of sacrifice to keep true worker discontent at bay.
